TECHNOLOGY

Dr. Anna Whitmire thinks that Technology plays a very important role in delvering the Best Dental Care to her patients. She keeps up with the latest technology in dentistry. Dr. Whitmire and her staff is committed to continual training and maintenance of delivering the standard of care a patient deserves.

DIGITAL X-RAY

Dgital x ray is a form of x ray imaging where digital sensors are used instead of the traditional photographic film. Digital x ray use less radiation than the ordinary film- that means that patients are exposed to lesser radiation when x rays are taken. That also means less waiting time, and shorter appointments. Images digitally transferred can be enhanced, and aids the dentist in making diagnosis more accurate.

INTRA-ORAL CAMERA

The intra-oral camera broadcasts images for both the patient and doctor to see. Instantaneously the images of your xrays are sent to a computer screen so that both the patient and doctor can review your oral health together. This wonderful new technology allows you to relax in your chair while simultaneously observing a real-time movie of the inside of your mouth magnified beyond normal size on an adjacent computer monitor. Not only does this make it simple to see and understand what is happening in your mouth, but it makes it simple for us to keep incredibly accurate records from one visit to the next.

The intra-oral technology provides xrays at a much lower dose and delivers up to 60-80% less radiation than standard x-rays. These intra-oral cameras not only increase the dentist-patient communication, but can also aid in insurance claim reimbursement, by including color images along with traditional radiographs.

CEREC TECHNOLOGY

ONE VISIT DENTISTRY. Cerec machine can be used to restore your tooth in one visit, eliminating the need for a second visit or a temporary crown. Cerec uses 3 D camera to capture a before and after image of your tooth and uses computer added software to design and mill a ceramic crown , onlay, or veneer. The milled ceramic crown used to restore the tooth is stronger than the hand layered and pressed ceramic crown made from the laboratory. Thereby giving you a longer lasting restoration.

More conservation of good tooth structure is one of its advantages. Often times a partial coverage crown restoration can be completed versus a full coverage crown. That means less drilling, thus there's lesser number of shots of local injections are needed.

DIAGNODENT

It is our goal to help you maintain and improve your oral health. To achieve this goal, the dental care that you and your family receive in our office always includes state of the art equipment.

Among the newest technologies is a small laser instrument called DIAGNODENT, which scans your teeth with harmless laser light searching for hidden decay before it destroys tooth structure (from the inside out).

This unique instrument provides instant tooth feedback on the health of the tooth. A pen like probe glides over the tooth surfaces constantly checking for the health of the tooth. A number scale and alarm signals the operator when there are signs of hidden decay. This new technology is completely safe and pain free.
